About

What this is

A running list of what is actually happening in Napa Valley: live music at the bars, restaurants and wineries, plus markets, fairs, galas and the one-off nights that never reach a tourism calendar. It is free, there are no ads, and nobody pays to be on it.

Who runs it

One person, a local, plus everyone who sends in an event or points us at a venue worth reading. It is not a business and it is not a tourism board. There is no money in it and none is wanted.

Where the listings come from

Every listing starts somewhere public: a venue's events page, a calendar feed, an Instagram or Facebook post, a newsletter we asked to join, or a person filling in the form. We read those sources on a schedule, pull the dated specifics out of them, and publish. Nothing on an event page is written by us.

Every event page lists every place we saw it, linked, so you can check the claim yourself. If a detail is not in the source, the field stays blank. A missing price is fine. A wrong one is not.

The full list of what we read is on one page, built from the crawl itself, with what each source has contributed and when we last managed to read it. It is also where a venue asks to be taken off.

We list a night, not a standing arrangement. A named act at a venue on a date goes up. "Live music every Thursday" does not, because nobody goes to a category. When we hear about a cadence without specifics, it becomes a note to go looking rather than a listing.

What it covers

The whole valley: Napa, Yountville, Oakville, Rutherford, St Helena, Calistoga, Angwin and American Canyon. Most of what is here is in the town of Napa, because that is where the reading started. Every time shown is Pacific.

Add something

Know about a night? Add the event. A person reads every submission before it appears, so give it a day or two.

Know where to look? Add a source: a venue's events page, a calendar feed, an Instagram account. One good source fills in a whole venue, which makes it the most useful thing you can send.

Corrections and removals

Something wrong, out of date, or listed that should not be? Write to [email protected] and it gets fixed or taken down. If you run a venue and would rather not be listed at all, say so and that is the end of it. No argument, no form.
